Artist's Comments
An OpenCanvas sketch of a secondary character that might eventually make main character status.. Canden Lowski.
Actually, sketch is what it was. Now it's inked in OC and then colored in Painter 7. I played with the colors and lights a little bit to try and make it less dull and more interesting. I feel as though I have a habit of making color dull and gritty.
Tried to be vibrant with this'un, in spite of the fact it doesn't exactly suit the character. Canden is witty yet cynical, helpful yet spiteful, a romantic yet uncaring of what he does emotionally to the people he's tried to romance. I know it doesn't make sense, but generally he has good intentions when it comes to being a doctor (which he is a brilliant one), yet when it comes to matters of the heart, he could care less about the girl and cares only for making himself feel good.
I'd write out examples, but that'd take a while.
